Every piece of Martin’s woodcraft is unique; made with pride in his workshop at Ardtun near Bunessan on the Ross of Mull in the south west of the beautiful Isle of Mull off the west coast of Scotland.

On leaving school Martin served a four year apprenticeship in organ building. He has worked on church and cathedral organs in the United Kingdom and abroad.  Following several years boat building Martin became self-employed and created commissioned pieces for clients from his base in North Yorkshire.

On moving to the Isle of Mull early in 2009, machines and all, Martin began to establish a new workshop and now creates smaller pieces of furniture.

He takes inspiration from the grain and figure of the timber and from the natural world all around.  Martin creates organic shapes and uses textures to help reflect the beauty of the wood.
